The Chelsea Physic Garden was originally established in 1673 as the Apothecaries Garden, and was just a short walk from both The Cale street distillery (where Beefeater was originally made) and James Burrough’s residence. The garden, would have been frequented quite often by James Burrough, and in many ways would have served as inspiration to Beefeater’s original recipe. On learning this our Master Distiller, Desmond Payne, set about creating Beefeater London Garden, a special edition gin that is the culmination of countless taste experiments and of course trips to the garden. The result is a gin that carries through Beefeater London Dry’s citric precision, while working through more leafy and herbal notes, courtesy of lemon verbena and thyme. Exclusive to the Beefeater visitor centre, The Home of Gin, Beefeater London Garden gin is another reason to come visit us at our home.
