HOW TO MAKE A PERFECT BRAMBLE
This sweet yet tart tipple has similar foundations to a Gin Sour, but with the addition of Crème de Mure blackberry liqueur. All amateur mixologists and gin enthusiasts should know how to make a good Bramble, and luckily it’s pretty easy to do.
The key ingredients to make a perfect Bramble cocktail are Beefeater London Dry Gin, lemon juice and Crème de Mure, but we also like to add some pomegranate juice for extra fruity flavour and colour.
VARIATIONS ON A GIN BRAMBLE
As the Gin Bramble cocktail’s foundations are solid and simple, it lends itself to countless delicious variations.
There’s the Bramble Fizz which adds soda water for a fizzy version, the Bramble Spritz which incorporates a generous glug of Prosecco, and even a Bramble Martini. If the weather’s extra balmy, try a Frozen Bramble by blending everything together with ice, slushie style.
THE HISTORY OF THE BRAMBLE
The original Bramble recipe was first invented by British barman, Dick Bradsell in 1984. Bradsell was working at a bar in London’s lively Soho, and we like to think that the Bramble is similarly vibrant. It’s a gin cocktail that feels quintessentially British, despite its fairly modern history.
