INTRODUCING THE NEGRONI
A Negroni is a timeless cocktail hailing from Italy but sipped all over the globe. It’s an aperitif, meaning it’s usually enjoyed before a meal to tease your taste buds and spur your appetite.
Like most traditional aperitifs, a Negroni has a bitter dominant flavour, with just a hint of sweetness from the Sweet Vermouth. It’s a classic gin cocktail that’s hard to miss due to its seductive ruby red colour.
MAKING A PERFECT NEGRONI
Making the perfect Negroni is easy. It’s a great cocktail for beginner mixologists to try because its equal ratio makes it simple to remember.
You’ll need equal parts of Beefeater London Dry Gin, Campari and Sweet Vermouth to make a classic Negroni, plus the classic garnish of an orange slice or twist. A Negroni’s ratio means each of its ingredients are pretty essential, but you can indeed switch out the Vermouth for a similar fortified wine, such as Sherry.
